alright peeps.

the actual end of this journal. (I forgot I didn't do one.) The new one's in full use anyways...
Not that an end was really necessary, but oh well, I'm silly like that.

So yes, the end. I've had some not so good, but I've definately had some gooood times in this journal. thank you for being part of it (ooooh so corny.)

Sinterklaas!

whoooooooot!

ok... for those interested... I'll tell you a tad bit about Sinterklaas... *points to Gabii* stop laughing at the word! lol... j/k... anyways...

Sinterklaas is a holiday/tradition in Belgium and The Netherlands. (even though we don't get free from school on that day... *sighs*) it's on the sixth of December... which is this Saturday! the story goes like so: Sinterklaas is this old man, white beard and all, and he lives in Spain... and every year, on december sixth, that night, he comes here and he brings gifts and candy for all the children (mind you only the ones that have been good throughout the year... lol) so it's kind of like the Santa claus tradition in America... and all other countries... like Germany and all... but Sinterklaas also has his helpers, to help make the toys and cookies and stuff... and i'll insert a pic so you can see... his helpers, whom we call 'zwarte pieten' are these black guys (sounds so discriminating, but it's not i swear! its just the way the story goes, just read on and you'll know why they're black)... in weird clothes and all... yea, it's all weird... but you'll see... and on that evening, Sinterklaas and the zwarte pieten, walk over the roofs of the houses and the pieten go in through the chimney and put the presents inside for the children... see... that's why they're black... *nods* anyways... i think that's about it... oh no... i forgot... Sinterklaas drives on the roof on his horse... *nods* it's called Slecht Weer Vandaag, which means Bad weather today.... yea... weird... lol yea, any questions anyone?

ok so <---- that's a kind of bad pic... i dont know why they're in the army thing base thing... but... hell... its the only decent pic of a zwarte piet i could find where you saw the whole of em... lol... but yea... that's what they dress like... although one had sports shoes... *giggles* but oh well...

i love sinterklaas... tis very fun... i may be to old for toys but i still get lots of candy...*rubs tummy* yum!

well... i hope i amused some one...

oh and konnie, the thing with the candy here... in my hall in my dorm, we had to put up a rhyme for sinterklaas containing which candy we like the best, and then we drew names and we have to go buy a bit of candy for the person you drew the name of... and put it at their door at night... so that they can have it when they wake up... *grins* that's it really...

and this was my rhyme...

Sinterklaas is weer in 't land.
Zie je al waarvan hij komen zal?
Hij heeft weer mandarijnen, een volle mand.
Ik hoop dat ze niet valt op zijn reis door berg en dal.
Zijn zwarte piet,
die alles ziet,
geeft ons chocolade
We krijgen allemaal speculaas
van die lieve Sinterklaas...
